    TRIVIA

Useless trivia you probably never wanted to know, hurrah! Most of these come courtesy of the Dragonball Z Wikipedia.

  • Frieza's German voice actor is the same VA who redubbed The Duke in Moulin Rouge. That still cracks me up. XD

  • Jeice's blood is purple, as shown when Goku punches him in the nose in Ginyu Assault, and later we can see some purple blood fly from his nose.

  • While most characters' voices changed when FUNimation took over, Jeice's accent changed from a mixed British accent to an Australian accent.

  • In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi, the first video game Jeice appeared in, one of the things he can say before a battle is "Don't play stupid with me, wanker!" In the game's sequels, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3, the word "wanker" is cut out as the word is considered inappropriate, although a residual "w" sound can still be heard at the end of the statement.

  • While watching Goku's battle with Kid Buu in Hell, Jeice is often seen standing next to Dr. Gero. Although this may be a coincidence, both of them have extremely long white hair.

  • Jeice is the last member of the Ginyu Force to be killed by Vegeta.

  • The video games describe Jeice, Zarbon, and Cooler's henchman Salza as being of the same race.

  • Salza claims to know of a secret in regards to Captain Ginyu, it might also imply that his original form was of the same race that Jeice is of.

  • Captain Ginyu's "character introduction" biography in the Budokai Tenkaichi video game series implies that Ginyu has used the Body Change technique numerous times in his career, and that his humanoid appearance in Dragon Ball Z is the result of a previous Body Change, rather than Ginyu's original shell. However this is debatable, as after being dying as a in the body of a Namek frog (the product of an awry Body Change), Captain Ginyu assumes this form during his stay in Hell.

  • In the Funimation dub, Captain Ginyu's voice is almost uncanny to the voice of the dub's narrator. This is due to the fact that here, Ginyu and the narrator are voiced by Dale Kelly.

  • In the manga, Guldo is the only member of the Ginyu Force who has never met Goku. (In the anime only, Goku fights Guldo in the episode "Warriors of the Dead", easily defeating him with one blow.)

  • Guldo doesn't use his Time Freeze while in Other World, though he does attempt to use Mind Freeze on Chiaotzu, who attacks him before he can trap him.

  • In the episode Time Tricks and Body Binds, when Recoome and Burter bet on who they think is going to win, Burter thinks Guldo will lose and Recoome thinks Guldo will win. However, when it seems like Guldo is going to win, Burter and Recoome both act as if Burter thought Guldo would win and Recoome thought Guldo would lose. It is unclear whether this is an error or whether this was done to enhance the Ginyu Force's reputations as goofballs. In the redub, however, the bet is changed to how long Gohan and Krillin last against him, and Burter wins fair and square.

  • Guldo's death was the only one (out of the four members of the Ginyu Force killed by Vegeta) that Goku did not disapprove of. He gave Vegeta a Senzu Bean for saving Krillin and Gohan from Guldo, but clearly disapproved of Vegeta killing Burter and Recoome when they were unconscious, and then killing Jeice when he was begging for mercy.

  • In the edited version, Guldo's decapitation is shown as him falling with his head not attached, and is killed with an energy blast from Vegeta. However, in the uncut, Guldo's head falls off and rolls over to Vegeta and is destroyed. When Gohan is seen flying back toward the ship during Goku's fight with Frieza, he flies by the corpses of Burter, Recoome, and Guldo. Guldo's head still appears to be intact.

  • Although Recoome was defeated before Burter, he was killed after him.

  • Though Vegeta blew up Recoome with an energy blast, his corpse was seen when Gohan flew by the battlefield while on his way to Goku's ship with Piccolo during Goku's fight with Frieza. This can best be explained by the fact that Vegeta's energy blast simply killed Recoome instead of annihilating him, as in a similar situation, Frieza kills Dende with a finger beam. Although there is an explosion, Dende's body is still intact.

  • In the Ocean dub, while Krillin and Gohan are fighting Guldo, Recoome makes a bet with Burter. If Guldo wins, Recoome gets a chocolate nut bar. If Guldo loses, Burter gets the bar. Later, when it seems as if Guldo is going to win, Recoome says "I guess I was wrong. Good old Guldo's still got it," implying that he forgot who he bet on. Burter takes advantage of this and tells Recoome that he owes him (Burter) a chocolate nut bar. In the FUNimation dub, they simply bet on how long Krillin and Gohan will last against Guldo, with Recoome saying Guldo will defeat them in under a minute. In this version, Burter wins the bar fair and square; he cheated in the Ocean version.

  • Recoome looks similar to Android 16, who appears later in Dragonball Z. At one point in the Ocean dub, when Vegeta was fighting Recoome, he even called him an overgrown android.

  • Recoome has a similar role to Nappa. They're both approximately the same size, both beat up all the good guys on the battlefield before Goku arrives from some other place and beats them both up effortlessly, then they are both killed by Vegeta.

  • In an issue of Beckett Anime, a Beckett magazine publication, Zarbon was voted as one of the top five greatest henchmen of all anime, and was the only character from Dragon Ball Z on the list.

  • His voice in the games differs greatly from his voice in the anime. The original FUNimation dub, first seen in Frieza's flashback to King Vegeta's rebellion against him, has Zarbon's voice sound similar to the Ocean Dub. In later versions of the FUNimation dub, his voice was changed so it resembled King Cold's or Caroni's (similar to how later versions made Vegeta's voice deeper than it did in the original FUNimation). Some fans who have heard both voice actors portraying Zarbon feel that his voice changed for the worse, and that the Ocean groups's rendition better suited the character.

  • In the Ocean Dub, when Zarbon's scouter breaks, Dodoria says "Zarbon, what was that?" But in the flashback Dodoria has while he's fighting Vegeta, he says "What was that, Zarbon?"

  • When Zarbon came for his final showdown with Vegeta, Bulma fell in love with him at first sight (though he didn't seem to notice) and thought he was there to rescue her. Ironically, she marries Vegeta, who kills Zarbon.

  • Two mistakes regarding Zarbon's armor were made by the animators during the scene where Vegeta kills him. At the beginning of this scene, Zarbon's armor is already battle-damaged and his cape is gone. While they are fighting, however, his armor and cape are completely intact, as they used a clip from a previous Vegeta vs Zarbon scene. Secondly, when Zarbon falls into the lake, his armor (though still battle-damaged) slightly resembles Vegeta's more than it does his own.

  • Zarbon and Dodoria are the first and final villains to appear onscreen in the history of all Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and Dragon Ball GT. When looking at the timeline chronologically, the first movie to take place is the Bardock TV Special, where Zarbon and Dodoria appear first (not counting Vegeta, who switches sides). In the final episode of Dragon Ball GT (episode 64), Zarbon and Dodoria are the final villains to appear onscreen when Goku remembers all the villains who escaped from Hell.

  • Nothing pertaining to Dragonball, Dragonball Z or Dragonball GT belongs to me. All rights, pictures, characters, names etc belong to Akira Toriyama and FUNimation. All doujinshi belong to the respective artists. No harm is meant by this site. Just here to have a little fun and worship the greatest posers in the Galaxy ^_^
