I doubt anyone realizes how close this episode was to crashing and burning. By the time Kedamono pulled his "art of the ninja" bit, I had absolutely no idea where to go next. In times like this, I usually just throw in some random conflict and hope for the best. Luckily, the Zapatos Gang arc turned out to be wonderfully dramatic, and allowed for some interesting characters to turn up.
